I like watching Elisabeth and Julia interact together. Especially when they are being happy.
Yesterday, at a friend's house, the girls were swinging together on a swing set. It's one of those swing sets that has the double bench swing that faces each other. They were sitting together on one side of it. Elisabeth had her arm around Julia, protecting her from falling out. Julia had put her arm around Julia, adoringly imitating her big sister. They were swinging in silence watching the other kids in the yard play. Every now and then, Julia would squeal as the swinging motion tickled her belly. Elisabeth would smile at her and say, "Is this fun, Juju?" "Yeah, Didi. Fun!".
Today, we made a trip to WalMart for more diapers. Elisabeth saw those one carts that have the double seats for bigger kids (you know, the one where they face each other that's not a car?). She's been wanting to have a sibling just so she could have a reason to use this cart. She asked if she and Julia could sit in it. I said yes. Julia sat in the farther seat so Elisabeth's' legs would prevent Julia from falling off. As I was pushing them into the store, they look at each other and both break into the same beautiful smile, giggling at the fun they're having, sharing a sister moment. It made my heart melt.
Like!!! Oh wait...we're not on Facebook right now. Either way, I very much like these stories : )
