A visit to the fair.

While Evan was gone for his training in Virginia (the state), the girls and I made a trip to the El Paso County Fair! Evan's not really a fair kind of guy, so he wasn't sad about missing this trip with us. We met Rachel and her kids, Rachel's mom, and a few of Rachel's siblings and nieces and nephews.

This is Elisabeth petting a dairy cow. Elisabeth was to wear a hat and drink lots of water. You see, she was sick and vomit-y the day before and was crying her eyes out that if she was sick she'd miss the fair. So, when she woke up in the morning and felt ok, I decided to chance her vomiting on fair grounds and we ventured out anyway. It's called stellar parenting, folks.
Julia is in love with baby cows. She was overwhelmed when she actually got to meet and touch one.

Here's part of the crew we took to the fair!
Henry and a piglet.
I seriously love her in this dress.
Standing in line to milk the dairy cow.
Elisabeth was a pro.
Julia didn't want to touch the cow's utters, so I helped.
Julia really liked this goat. I found its eyes creepy.
Look! A Pekin goose!!!
We let the kids ride some rides. Elisabeth loves ferris wheels, so it's what she wanted to ride first.
Julia was all about the cars. She didn't even know the kid she was riding with, but she didn't care.

It was a GORGEOUS Colorado day. As usual.
For a while, Rachel and I realized we were the only grown-ups with all 10 kids. Go ahead and count them. Aged 10 to 2. :)
Elisabeth brought some money and purchased a cowgirl hat.

Playing in the corn pen.

This was a cake made by a kid. I was way impressed.
Julia's favorite cake, of course.

Julia really wanted to squeeze this bunny's tail. I didn't blame her. In fact, I did. It was fluffy.
We had left over tickets so the girls rode the elephant ride together.

I love Elisabeth. She's such a good big sister.
Then we rode this twirly ride.

And someone didn't love it very much.
Elisabeth never puked and we had a fabulous time! Elisabeth is on the lookout for more fairs we can go to. :)
