Virtual Coffee

Good morning, friends! How is it in your neck of the woods?

It is sunny and in the 50s here. It smells like spring! I always forget how much I love the smell of spring until it starts wafting in through the windows. And rain! I love the smell of rain, but it's not a smell we get very often out here in Colorado. The smell of rain instantly makes me think of Illinois and then I get a tiny bit home sick.

This week is a lovely week because we have nothing pressing. I enjoy weeks where we're open for nothingness. I have the usual errands to run and things to do around the house, but no appointments, no extras.
Today is laundry day for the girls. That means that they have to dump their dirty clothes baskets over the railing to be cleaned.

Then they come downstairs and put it in the big dirty clothes basket for me. It's one of the only times they'r allowed to throw things over the railing and they like it. It makes laundry a lot easier for me too.

This weekend, Evan and I are going to see David Sedaris at the Pikes Peak Center. I've read his books "Me Talk Pretty Some Day" and "Naked". I am so excited. I've heard he's hilarious live and I super enjoy his books. He'll also be doing a book signing, and you know I'm going to stand in line to meet him! I'm also stoked to have Evan come with me! It's been a while since we've gone out to something other than a dinner with just the two of us.

Well, I have laundry calling my name. Then I think Julia would like to take a walk to the park. It's kind of hard to pass that up on a gorgeous day like today.

Please stop by Amy's Lucky Number 13 for the other virtual coffees happening today!!!! See you next week!

  1. HA- love the laundry tossing shots!!! How funny. I don't let my kids toss things down over the railing either... not that that always stops them - grrrr! Enjoy your book outing - it sounds like a blast :D Oh and enjoy your sunshine - we, in Illinois have rain and gray and thunder.... you really miss this stuff? ;D

  3. Now that would make laundry fun!

I'm jealous of your 50 degree temps...rainy / snow here and in the low 40's with blustery wind...YOWZA! If this is spring I'd hate to see summer.

Sound like a lovely "nothing" week. I don't think I've had one of those since before I had kids. :-)

BTW - That is one BIG cat...We have one about that size too. Ha!
