The weather was gorgeous, and I guess we were super lucky. Those who live around here said that usually it's colder and wetter and not at all fun to go out trick-or-treating. It was in the low 60s all day and dropped to the 50s by the time the sun went down.
We went down our street to a few houses and then headed to the base to trick-or-treat at the houses there. Julia did awesome! Which was fantastic since I forgot we didn't have our wagon (we left it in Pekin), so she had to hoof it for a while. With four grown-ups, she did have a few willing volunteers to hold her, but seriously, the girl weighs a good 27 pounds. She's not light. She was timid at first, but eventually would walk behind Ebeth to the doors and hold out her little ghost trick-or-treat plush bag. There was one time that she gave the man at the door her candy back because she thought she should share too. :)
She made it about an hour and then was done, so Evan and Elisabeth kept going and my parents headed back to the house with me and Julia. We had tons of trick-or-treaters when we got back, which made me super excited. When we lived in DeKalb we didn't get trick-or-treaters because we were in the apartment. There were some super cute costumes and Julia really liked being my helper (as did our cats who I'm sure were wondering why we were allowing so many strangers access to our house).
Here's Julia getting her puppy nose and spots.
Cruella trying to eat the puppy.
Jana made dalmatian costumes for Elisabeth's American Girl twin dolls. They went with us, though I do believe Evan ended up carrying them around most of the night. :)
Omg, look at that fat puppy bottom!

Where's Julia?
Julia LOVES LOVES LOVES pumpkins. For reals. We have a plug in jack-o'-lantern in our kitchen that she demands be plugged in every morning before she even gets her breakfast. We've decided to keep it up till it's time to decorate for Christmas. It's just easier that way.

Elisabeth has already decided to be a vampire next year, which is totally awesome and I've already got a few ideas to make her the most awesome vampire EVER! (Some ideas may or may not involve a few Twilight references. I'm just saying.) So, that just leaves Julia to think about. I'm curious to see if Julia will have any ideas since she'll be over 2 by then. I am also curious if I even let her choose. ;)
Those are the best costumes EVER, and the car seat picture made me laugh. Looks like a great Halloween!
